KY-B Vertical Valve Test Bench and Specialist Equipment

The KY-B is the vertical hydraulic valve test bench in the KANGYUAN range, for flanged, welded and threaded valves. This page also covers the specialist machines built alongside it: the KY-L hydraulic hammer, the hydraulic valve grinder and the automated pipeline clamping machine.

Overview

A vertical bench for mixed end connections

The KY-B is built for pressure performance testing of valves with different end connections on the same machine: flanged valves, welded valves, and valves with internal or external threads. A single bench therefore covers work that would otherwise need several sealing arrangements, which suits factories and workshops whose valve programme is not limited to one connection type.

Clamping is available in both of the forms KANGYUAN builds: clamp jaws that grip the valve, and top pressing, where the valve is pressed onto the sealing arrangement from above. The upper crossbeam can be swung back through 90 degrees, which clears the working area so the valve can be loaded and positioned without working around the beam. The control cabinet carries the pressure gauges, the button panel and a timer.

High and low pressure water pump units are built into the machine, and the test medium is stored and recirculated. The medium is water, air or kerosene, selected by the user at the time of order. As with the rest of the KY range, a computer test data management system can be fitted as an option.

Model designations for the KY-B bench are confirmed with KANGYUAN at quotation. The table below identifies the three sizes by nominal diameter range; the corresponding model designation is confirmed against your valve data at quotation.

Construction and features

How the KY-B bench is built

Clamp-jaw gripping and top pressing

The bench works with both clamping methods. Clamp jaws grip the valve body or flange, and the top-pressing arrangement holds the valve down onto the sealing face from above. Which method is used depends on the valve: a flanged valve is normally sealed on the flange faces, while a welded or threaded valve body needs the pressing arrangement to hold it against the seal.

Upper crossbeam swings back 90 degrees

The upper crossbeam can be swung back through 90 degrees, which opens the working area above the sealing position. Loading and removing a valve is therefore done in clear space, and the beam is swung back over the valve only when it is in place and ready to be clamped.

Mixed end connections on one machine

The bench is built for flanged, welded and internally or externally threaded valves. Sealing parts are made for the end connection of the valves you actually test, so one machine can serve a valve programme that includes more than one connection type instead of being tied to a single flange standard.

Control cabinet with gauges, button panel and timer

The control cabinet carries the pressure gauges, the push-button panel and the timer used for the pressure hold. The gauges are read directly by the operator during the test, and the timer is what makes the hold time repeatable between valves rather than estimated.

High and low pressure water pump units

Both pump stages are built into the machine: the low pressure stage fills the valve quickly and the high pressure stage takes it up to the test pressure. The test medium is stored in the machine and recirculated rather than drained away after each cycle.

Water, air or kerosene

The test medium is water, air or kerosene, selected by the user when the machine is ordered. The medium and the circuit arrangement for it are confirmed with the quotation together with the sealing parts for your valve ends.

Optional computer test data management

A computer test data management system can be ordered with the bench, as on the rest of the KY range: pressure sensors, a PLC, an LCD touch screen, printing of the test record and CF card storage of the data.

Built to the same test logic as the rest of the range

Fill, raise to test pressure, hold, read, drain, release and record — the vertical bench follows the same sequence as the KY and KY-Z benches, so an operator who has run one KANGYUAN machine can run the others.

Pressure-test safety protection

A pressure-test safety protection device is listed by KANGYUAN for its test benches, and the catalogue states it explicitly for the KY-A power-station bench. On the KY-B vertical bench the protection arrangement is part of the machine configuration and is confirmed with the quotation, together with the clamping and sealing arrangement for your valves.

Specialist equipment

Auxiliary machines, built to order

Three machines in the KANGYUAN range support valve testing and valve reconditioning work. The catalogue names them but publishes no parameter table for them, so each one is quoted as custom equipment against the job it has to do.

KY-L hydraulic hammer with a blue frame, central hydraulic cylinder and pressure gauges on the front panel
KY-L

KY-L Hydraulic Hammer

KY-L 型锤式液压机. A hydraulic hammer press supplied alongside the test benches. Built to order for the job it has to do; the catalogue gives no parameter table for it, so the specification, force and working range are confirmed at quotation.

Hydraulic valve grinder with a green base, a grinding head on a vertical column and a valve body clamped in the working position
Grinding

Hydraulic Valve Grinder

KY 型液压阀门研磨机. A machine for grinding and lapping valve seating surfaces as part of valve reconditioning. Built to order; the catalogue gives no parameter table for it, so the sizes it covers and the drive arrangement are confirmed at quotation.

Automated pipeline clamping machine with two vertical clamping columns and a horizontal beam over the pipeline position
Automation

Automated Pipeline Clamping Machine

自动化流水线装夹机. An automated clamping machine for pipeline work, used where clamping has to be repeated as part of a production flow. Built to order; the catalogue gives no parameter table for it, so the clamping range and the degree of automation are confirmed at quotation.

Because no parameters are published for these three machines, nothing about their size, force or capacity is stated on this page. Send us the valve or pipeline work they have to handle and KANGYUAN returns a specification with the quotation.

Standards and markets

What these machines are built to, and where they work

Common questions

Specifying a KY-B bench or specialist machine

Which model numbers does the KY-B vertical bench come in?

The KY-B vertical bench is published in three sizes covering DN15 to DN100, DN50 to DN200 and DN80 to DN300, each at a nominal pressure of 1.6 to 32 MPa, and those parameter columns are on this page as they are printed in the catalogue. Model designations for this bench are confirmed against your valve data at quotation.

How is a valve clamped on the KY-B bench?

The KY-B works with both clamping methods: clamp jaws that grip the valve, and top pressing, where the valve is pressed onto the sealing arrangement from above. The upper crossbeam can be swung back through 90 degrees, which clears the working area for loading and unloading. The bench is built for pressure performance testing of flanged, welded and internally or externally threaded valves.

Which test media and pressures does the KY-B use?

The test medium is water, air or kerosene, selected by the user when the machine is ordered. The catalogue lists a nominal pressure of 1.6 to 32 MPa for all three columns, a pressure-regulating range of 0 to 6.3 MPa, an oil pump pressure of 0 to 5.0 MPa and a high-pressure (booster) stage of 3.0 to 31.5 MPa, with high and low pressure water pump units built into the machine and the test medium stored and recirculated.

What are the KY-L hydraulic hammer and the other auxiliary machines for?

They are separate machines in the KANGYUAN range, built alongside the test benches: the KY-L hydraulic hammer, the hydraulic valve grinder and the automated pipeline clamping machine. The catalogue names them but publishes no parameter table for them, so each one is quoted as custom equipment against the job it has to do. Tell us what the machine must handle and KANGYUAN returns the specification with the quotation.

Can the KY-B record test data?

Yes. A computer test data management system is available as an option on the KY-B, as on the rest of the KANGYUAN KY range. It covers the pressure sensors, a PLC, an LCD touch screen, printing of the test record and CF card storage of the data. Without that option the machine is operated and read from the panel instruments.
