About Kangyuan Fluid Control (Zhejiang) Co., Ltd

A manufacturer of hydraulic valve pressure testing equipment in Oubei town, Wenzhou, Zhejiang — the company behind the KY series of valve test benches.

Who we are

A valve testing equipment manufacturer in Wenzhou, Zhejiang

KANGYUAN is the brand of Kangyuan Fluid Control (Zhejiang) Co., Ltd (康源流体控制(浙江)有限公司), a Chinese manufacturer of hydraulic valve pressure testing equipment. The company designs, fabricates, assembles, wires and pressure-tests its machines at No.137, SanPu road, HouYang, OuBei town, WenZhou, Zhejiang, and sells them under the KY series name. The company has been building valve testing equipment for more than 20 years, and works as a manufacturer rather than a trading company.

The range has six machine families. The KY series hydraulic valve test bench (KY-100 to KY-1000) covers flange-connected valves from DN15 to DN1000. The KY-Z immersed bench lowers the workpiece into a water pool and turns it through 90° for gas-pressure testing, and a combined small-caliber immersed version covers small valve batches. The KY-A series (KY-A/100 to KY-A/800) is built for large-caliber welded and threaded power-station valves. The KY-T series (KY-T300 to KY-T2000) handles flanged and wafer butterfly valves, including disc opening and closing and electric actuator torque testing. The KY-B vertical machine takes flanged, welded and threaded valves with either clamp-jaw or top-pressure clamping.

Auxiliary machines complete the line: the KY-L hydraulic hammer, a hydraulic valve grinder and an automated pipeline clamping machine. Every machine integrates hydraulics, electromechanics, pressure testing and test-medium storage and circulation in one system, and can be ordered with a computerised test-data management package — pressure sensors, PLC, liquid-crystal touch screen, printing and CF-card storage.

The company states that it works to GB/T13927-92 (general valve pressure test), API 598 (valve inspection and test) and the ISO 9000 quality management system, among other relevant standards. It states that its equipment serves valve manufacturers, petrochemical plants, natural gas engineering, power plants and water supply and drainage, and that machines are in use in the USA, Germany, Canada, Spain, the Netherlands, the UAE, Japan, South Korea, Indonesia and Taiwan region.

The six machine families at a glance

All six families are built in the same works and share the same approach to clamping and sealing. The valve type, size range and test medium decide which one is quoted.

How the machines are built

Four things that decide how a machine turns out

Engineering starts from your valve data

Valve type, size range, pressure class, flange standard, body shape and the number of valves per shift decide the family and the model: a KY bench, a KY-Z immersed bench, a KY-A power-station bench, a KY-T butterfly bench or the KY-B vertical machine. Sealing plate and clamp jaws are made for your flange face rather than for a nominal bore.

Integrated hydraulics, electromechanics and pressure testing

The hydraulic system, the electromechanical clamping and control, the pressure test circuit and the test-medium storage and circulation are designed as one machine. On the KY bench a high-pressure pump and a large-flow low-pressure water pump are built into the unit, and the test medium is stored and recirculated from the machine's own tank.

The valve can be turned during the test

Because the valve is sealed on the flange end face and held by clamp jaws on the flange back, no external force influences the result, and the clamped valve can be turned through 90° mid-test. That is what makes gas (air) seat-tightness testing practical on the KY and KY-Z machines.

Optional computerised test-data management

Machines can be ordered with a data package built on pressure sensors, a PLC, a liquid-crystal touch screen, printing and CF-card storage, so each test can be recorded rather than written up by hand. Machines supplied without it work from analogue or digital gauges, and the choice is made at quotation stage.

Where the machines work

The company states that its equipment serves valve manufacturers, petrochemical plants, natural gas engineering, power plants and water supply and drainage, and that its machines are in use in the USA, Germany, Canada, Spain, the Netherlands, the UAE, Japan, South Korea, Indonesia and Taiwan region, as well as across China.

Scope

What we do and what we do not do

Unclear scope is the most common source of dispute on a machine order, so we state the boundary before the quotation rather than after it.

Normally included in our scope

  • Machine design, mechanical fabrication and painting
  • Hydraulic power unit, pumps, manifolds, pipework and pressure control
  • Electrical cabinet, controls, instrumentation and optional data recording
  • Sealing arrangement, sealing heads, platens and flange adapters made to your valve
  • Test-medium storage and circulation as part of the machine
  • Assembly, piping, wiring and a function test before shipment
  • Export packing suitable for sea freight
  • Operation and maintenance documentation, and remote commissioning support

Normally outside our scope

  • Site foundation, pit or floor works and grouting
  • Site water supply, compressed air supply and the electrical supply to the machine
  • Local electrical certification or re-certification of the installation
  • Valve certification — we supply and configure test equipment, we do not certify valves
  • Third-party inspection fees and inspector travel costs
  • Travel, visas and accommodation for on-site service, when requested
  • Import duties, taxes and clearance at the destination port

Questions worth asking any valve test machine supplier

These are the questions that separate a machine built for your production from a machine built for a catalogue photograph.

  1. Which valve sizes and pressure classes has this frame actually been built for before? Ask for the range that has been delivered, not the maximum the catalogue claims. Frame stiffness, platen size and clamping stroke are what limit a machine in practice.
  2. Is the sealing arrangement made for my flange standard? A machine that needs a different adapter for every size and face type costs more time per test than the price difference suggests.
  3. Does the machine hold the valve without external force? On the KY series the valve is sealed on the flange end face and gripped on the back of the flange, so clamping does not distort the body or the reading. Ask any supplier how their clamping acts on the valve.
  4. Is the pump sized for the hold, not only for the ramp? A large pump fills the valve quickly and then heats the test medium during a long hold. Ramp speed and hold stability are two different requirements.
  5. How is the result recorded? Confirm whether the pressure, hold time and result can be stored against a valve serial number and exported as a file your customer will accept — the optional computerised test-data management package on a KY machine covers sensors, PLC, touch-screen control, printing and CF-card storage.
  6. What spare parts do you recommend keeping on the shelf? Seals, gauge sets, pump seals and solenoid valves are the usual items. Ask for prices with the quotation, not after the first breakdown.
  7. What is the lead time, and what drives it? Fabrication, bought-in control components and custom sealing heads have different lead times. Knowing which one is critical helps you plan production.
  8. What support is included after delivery, and what is chargeable? Ask what remote support covers, how long it lasts, and what an on-site visit would cost if you need one.

Test pressures, hold times and acceptance criteria are always agreed against the specification you provide. Any capacity figure given before that stage is an indicative range — the final specification is confirmed in the technical proposal for your valve. KANGYUAN builds and proves the machine; the valve specification stays with you and your customer.
