Clamp-jaw gripping and top pressing
The bench works with both clamping methods. Clamp jaws grip the valve body or flange, and the top-pressing arrangement holds the valve down onto the sealing face from above. Which method is used depends on the valve: a flanged valve is normally sealed on the flange faces, while a welded or threaded valve body needs the pressing arrangement to hold it against the seal.
